I had to uninstall the cable actually before because when trying to update drivers, it said the drivers were already up to date. I uninstalled and then installed the VCP drivers first.
I open Vag Commander, select COM port 3, switch to K-line, click on the ECU module, change my ECU to what I think it is and click 'read eeprom'. It gives an error and then the program doesn't respond and I have to close it. I'm trying to retrieve the SKC off my 2005 Audi a4. Seriously, I have had a lot of success with Commander 2.5and I use the cheap Vag-commander 2.5 cable that I got off of Ebay for $13 shipped. Even came with the driver which works perfectly.
